Burst Ovarian Cysts

Break Ovarian Cysts

Burst ovarian cysts, or ruptured ovarian cysts, are very painful and can sometimes manifest symptoms of other problems. If these are not diagnosed correctly they can lead to other more serious problems. A serious infection may occur if this is not attended to properly and quickly. So if you suspect that you have a burst ovarian cyst, after checking the symptoms online, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Wrong diagnoses

When a woman and her doctor jump to conclusions about ovarian cysts, wrong diagnoses are the result. Sometimes the symptoms of an ovarian cyst, even a painfully ruptured one, can mask itself as other problems and conditions. If you have been in good health before the onset of the symptoms, you should consult your doctor right away. There is no reason why you should stay in pain.

One of the most common mistakes that women make when they have an ovarian cyst is thinking that it is pregnancy. Irregular periods as well as some abdominal pain are common symptoms of the burst ovarian cyst. This can lead women to believe that they are pregnant, especially when there are other symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. These are commonly associated with the first signs of pregnancy. When a woman has a burst ovarian cyst, there is also soreness of the breasts as well as feelings of fullness in the abdomen. This can also lead the patient to think that she is pregnant.

If the blood loss is significant, it can cause dizziness and even fainting. This can be a little scary if the woman is in otherwise good health. These are also another cause for the woman to think that she is pregnant. These are also symptoms of glucose problems such as diabetes or low blood sugar.

One other condition that an ovarian cyst that has ruptured mocks is appendicitis. It often fools both the patient as well as the doctor. The pain of both has been described as the same. This confusion is normal if the patient has never had an ovarian cyst rupture before. It is very hard for even a doctor to tell the difference until tests are run. Don’t sit around wondering what is wrong though.

Unusual symptoms of a burst ovarian cyst

Aside from the irregular periods and abdominal cramps, there are a few other symptoms that may occur with an ovarian cyst that has ruptured. Be sure and pay special attention to these. One unusual symptom is having a lot of gas and heartburn. This is only a problem if you have had an ovarian cyst burst before. If these aren’t normal conditions for you, then you need to be examined by a doctor.

Loss of appetite and frequent urination are also sometimes signs of a burst ovarian cyst. This is due to pressure being put on these organs. If you have never had these symptoms before then you need to see a doctor. Although these are uncommon symptoms they are not unheard of.
